Back to work!
After Rider's big day at the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles photoshoot at Sovereign, he is back at work. Here he is greeting customers.

Orange Stacking Boxes
We have fallen head over heels in love with our new orange book cloth stacking boxes.
They are reminiscent of the iconic Hermes box that designers often use as accents in closets and shelves. Our stacking boxes are great for a closet or bathroom, but we've been using them practically everywhere! Here they are in the store as tabletop decoration.

This place is a zoo!
One way or another, animals are in our lives. Even if you don't have a pet, there is a chance your home has an animal or two (or three, or four...). Rider may be the only living animal in the store, but he is definitely not the only animal at Pieces!

Party!
Lee has been super busy lately in preparation for her much anticipated baby shower this Saturday. The talented Tara Guerard of Soiree is planning the event which will be held at the Swan Coach House. We cannot wait to see how everything turns out! In the meantime, check out Tara's blog here: http://blog.soireecharleston.com/. So much inspiration!
Lee and Tara of Soiree first met when Tara designed Lee's wedding. The wedding (green themed, of course!) was featured in Tara's book, Southern Weddings.
This looks familiar!
While reading one of the design magazines this month, we noticed the new Shaw ad looked really familiar! One of our favorite photo stylists had just rented some items from Pieces, and now we know what she used them for! If you're interested in renting from Pieces for a photo shoot, feel free to contact us for details!
We spotted the Root Coffee Table, Custom Square Side Table, Custom Iron Side Table and White Tufted Sofa.
Writing Desk Vignette
Our Belgian Flip Top Table is so much more than an occasional table! Here is Lee's modern take on the traditional idea of a writing desk. For this impromptu photoshoot, Lee turned the table into a quaint writing desk filled with hip accessories. The Pink Murano Glass Lamp pops in the orange afternoon sun. The other accessories Lee added are the Porcelain Artichoke, Jonathan Alder candle and Porcelain Apple.
You will LOVE this desk!
We fell in love with the new Walnut Desk the moment we received it in the store. The walnut is absolutely beautiful.
The desk's clean lines are perfect for any style. The photo does not do the handsome walnut justice!
Lee used this Walnut Desk in her design for her new condo. It looks so chic against the backdrop of the Atlanta skyline. Rider obviously likes this spot, too!
Rider knows style!
Rider knows style when he sees it!
Rider feels right at home with our Pair of Dorothy Draper Style Chests, Pair of Five Leg Wing Chairs, Charcoal Trellis Pillows, Large Mirrored White Screens, Pair of Porcelain Chinoiserie Lamps.

Wood Plank Table
Our Wood Plank Table can be custom made to any specifications. Do you like the rustic, distressed look? Or is just a little antiquing more your style? We are happy to customize this table to suit any style. Here are some images of a weathered Wood Plank Table our designer sent to us. The butterfly clips in the wood and the subtle markings make it charmingly aged and antiqued.
Before & After
Customers usually are interested in Lee Kleinhelter's process of reinventing our vintage furniture. It's a long journey from begin to end with most of the vintage pieces. Here is an example of the transformation of our Gothic Side Chairs.
Lee spotted these chairs on a buying trip to North Carolina. They were rusted and very uneven. They also were missing cushions.
First, we needed to have them professionally painted with paint suitable for the old iron frames. Lee liked the look of the original white, so we had the old paint removed and several coats of white semi-gloss added. Next, they were off to the upholsterer. We already loved the way the chocolate upholstery on our Red Chippendale Dining Chairs looked, so we decided to order more of the same high-end outdoor chocolate fabric.
After several weeks of updates, the chairs finally arrive back at the store. The lines and character of the original items remain, but the chairs are much more pulled together and unique.
Finally, we have the reimagined Gothic Side Chairs professionally photographer for the website and 1stdibs.
Southern Living 25 Best Budget-Friendly Makeovers
We were so flattered to see the new Southern Living special on budget friendly makeovers. This story on Lee Kleinhelter's stylish designs for her stepdaughter's colorful bedroom originally was in Cottage Living, and has been revamped for the Southern Living article.
Welcome to the blog
This is Pieces' new blog! This is our spot to share happenings at the store, new inventory and of course, Rider's whereabouts. Stayed tuned!
Store updates
We love to rearrange the store when we get new inventory. Recently, we decided that the exterior of the store needs a fresh update, too.
Our Pair of Green Chests really pop in the window.
Love our new greenery!
We had the front sidewalk freshly painted white.
The teepee is still on the roof, though! We have no idea where it is from. Possibly a previous store owner- it's a mystery...
Take me to Acapulco!
Our new Yellow Stitched Bird Pillows are perfect for summer. They are inspired by Mexican tapestries. We put these with our Yellow Glass Lamps, and it all matches perfectly!
