What's new
The piecesinc.com 2.0 release contains many improvements, both visible and under the hood.
Here is a partial list of some of the visible changes that you are likely to encounter on the front end:
Usability improvements and subtle design changes
- Upgrades and Data migration
- Migrated all data to new database and filesystem on new server, running latest version of Drupal CMS codebase (Drupal 5.1)
- Improved design
- Completely rebuilt site template: single column
- Improved administration navigation
- Moved administrative navigation to top of browser window, out of page flow.
- Modular message blocks
- Regular product messages and links(e.g. Shipping not included, Return policy, etc.) have been moved to an easily modifiable central location.
- Streamlined global menu
- Improved the architecture of Contact, Directions, and misc. policy pages
- SEO enhancements
- Improved misc URL paths and category titles for better search engine visibility.
For example: Instead of http://piecesinc.com/pillows, we use http://piecesinc.com/accessories/decorative-pillows
New features added
- Dimensions
- Dimensions are now entered into a separate field and displayed apart from main description.
- Item IDs
- Item ids are now entered into a separate SKU field and displayed apart from main description.
- Send to friend
- Added a 'Send to friend' feature to item pages: created custom template and html email template.
- Printer-friendly page
- Added 'Printer-friendly page' feature with custom template.
- View larger image
- Improved the handling of full size image views with javascript lightbox overlay
- Categories
- Added the following new system of main categories: Color, Country of origin, Materials and Time period
- Press items
- Added inline image uploading to the press-item forms. Migrated all existing images.
To do
- Multiple images
- Ability to upload multiple images for each item, which can be displayed in a separate pop up gallery
- Note: The foundation for this is in place, all I need is a couple items with multiple shots so that I can build out the template.
Lee Kleinhelter, owner of Pieces comes from a distinctive Atlanta design background working with designers Dan Carithers, Westbrook Interiors, and Joye Hirsch Interior Design. Originally from North Carolina and with an education in Art History and Interior Design, she feels like she has finally found her niche. Pieces opened in May of 2004. The boutique started from a concept Lee had to provide a source for traditional and contemporary furnishings, stylish, clean lines with a punch of color.
The great finds for the boutique are found in markets from all over the country. Such items like vintage Swedish deco chairs, driftwood wall sculptures, and chic cork lamps. It’s a great place for dog accessories too. Groovy leashes, colorful collars, and fun sweaters.
“I search for items that are unique and can be updated to fit in many environments”, says Lee. “I want to create a space that inspires people and is available not only to the trade, but exposes the public as well”. We hope that you can stop by and visit her unique shop in the heart of Buckhead. Don’t forget to say hello to Teddy, the laid back yet very stylish golden retriever.

Return Policy
- There are no returns on purchased items.
- Special order items are not returnable.
- All items are sold in "As Is" condition.
Approval Policy
- Merchandise may be taken or shipped on approval for three days.
- Approval time begins the day the item is taken from the shop or delivered.
- There are no returns after three days.
- Please notify the shop within three days otherwise we consider you're keeping the merchandise.
- The credit card provided is billed and a receipt is mailed to you.
- Shipping to the destination and return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
- Merchandise must be shipped back to the shop on the third day of the approval.
- We recommend returned approvals to be shipped via freight line, UPS or Fed Ex insured and professionally packed.
Hold Policy
- All items may be placed on a 48 hour hold.
- The hold will be removed without notice after 48 hours.
Payment Policy
- There is a 2% discount on all purchases with cash or check.
- Please send payments Overnight or 2nd Day Air.
- Credit cards are also accepted.

Lee Boren uses her Interior design background to bring a new feel to the West Buckhead Village, Atlanta GA. providing a mix of old and new, retro and mid century furniture, textured throws and unique accessories for the home. Custom suede pillows and farm house tables, mixed with Lucite end tables and Swedish deco chairs balance the concept. Vintage lamps with updated crisp shades and bright cashmere throws complement the neutral toned sofas and painted furniture.
